Can I Buy a House at 18?

I want to buy a house but I'm only 18. To my understanding the legal age to buy a house is 21. Is this true?

Also my parents have a family home and they want to gift me a 30% share. Again do I need to wait till I am 31 before I can have the house gifted?

Answer: At the age of 18 a person is allowed to own property in their own name, in this country. Therefore, you do not need to wait, but can now purchase your own house, and receive a share of the family home from their parents.
